I have found an online torque converter for those who are interested:

Very simple to use!

Both of the torque wrenches I have are English on one side, metric on the other. If I forget the conversion factor, it's right on the wrench.

Both of the torque wrenches I have are English on one side, metric on the other. If I forget the conversion factor, it's right on the wrench.

Well, this site converts between inch-lbs, N-M, foot lbs, Kgf-meters, dyne-cm, and many other units that I suspect are not on yours or any torque wrench. While you have invested in an expensive model torque wrench, others may not be quite as fortunate Kerry.

Further, it is very easy to use and eliminates all guess work. Some people don't feel comfortable making conversions. Lennard Zinn wrote an article in 2003 in Velonews in which he said he is hesitant to include torque recs. in his newest book because many people mess up the calculations, or mistake foot-lbs for inch-pounds and end up destroying the bolts by overtightening.

This post was designed more for those who don't work with torque on a frequent basis and/or are uncomfortable with their math skills yet want to repair their bikes to proper torque settings..

It was more an FYI post I thought might be useful as I have seen a # of torque questions posted on this forum.
