What would be my best option for brakes on this Kaffenback winter training frame? It looks like it does not have a cable hanger for cantilever brakes. The built up bikes seem to come with mini V-brakes, but I am not sure if they give have enough clearance for fenders?

There's a little cable-hanger that comes off the SP clamp bolt that'd work. I've got/had one on a few bikes. Works great for cantis. Cantis = loads of clearance and no need for a travel agent/etc..

Check some of the popular cyclo-cross websites for that cable hanger, it should be relatively easy to find. Agree, cantis are easier, cheaper, and perform when the conditions get bad.
