Is the Veloswap worth the $8 entry fee? It is on the 30th in Chicago.

I went. Paid $8.00 for parking (what a rip off!!!!). Bought nothing. Took a picture with Graham Watson.

I went with the idea that I didn't need a thing. I ended up with a bag full of stuff I couldn't live without. The parking was a bit steep but a van full of club members made it seem worth it. The show had a few more dealer & "new" items but the Madison show in January beats it for "swap" and used items....and the parking is only half of this one.

$8 was a screw-job but I should've remembered it was in the Chicago-area and everyone always screws everyone else. It's the law I think.

I scored a vintage Cannondale tubular bag (with a Vittoria Mondial, new) folded-up inside for $2! When I put it on my old Ross I couldn't believe how HUGE it looked. I'm still laughing. Also got some toe clips, Oakley Blades (old school) and a Coors Classic 'fan' jersey. The actual vendor companies had some great deals, cheap jersey from Verge, $5 for a $30 book (jacket was wrinkled) from VeloNews. I got Graham Watson's new book and his autograph ($45, not too bad)! Mr. Watson was very nice, engaging and I had a nice laugh with him so that made it all worthwhile.

The location could've been better. I didn't notice the entire other HALF of the vendors and swappers until I was ready to leave. They need a site where ALL of the vendors and swappers are in a single room or undivided room.

I'm pretty interested in driving to Madison for their upcoming swap. This one will probably improve from year to year if they keep having it in Chicago.
