I'm trying to decide between a Bianchi XL Carbon, a Titus Titanium or a Pinrello Opera bike. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to decide between a Bianchi XL Carbon, a Titus Titanium or a Pinrello Opera bike. Any help would be appreciated.

None are going to ride even similar to each other... one is a carbon bike, one's steel, and one's titanium. I haven't riden the Titus, but I have riden the Pinarello Opera and the Bianchi... of the two I personally liked the Opera a lot, but I was less than thrilled with the Bianchi. I am also a big sprinter type guy at 210 pounds and I liked the stiffness of the Opera and didn't like the feel of the Bianchi. I really wish Pinarello would just offer the Opera in all steel instead of the carbon rear end, because I would buy one if they did, but have never been a fan of carbon bikes. Other people swear by them... which brings me to your post... it contains virtually nothing for information that could help anyone tell you anything other than their personal bias. You don't list your riding style, how big you are, what you plan to use the bike for... so there is not much anyone can tell you based on how little you told us. Have you riden any of the three? Which felt best to you? What did you like about some, but not other frames you have tried? Anyone who could give you useful advice would need a lot more info than what you posted.

Thanks for your reply. I have not rode any of these bikes but have looked to this site to narrow my choices. I ride about 75-100 miles a week flats and hills,(I live in Southern California) maily solo since I ride during the week and there are not many morning group rides. I ride a steel bike now and do like it, but it's a little too small + I want to upgrade. I'm 5'10" 180. I hope this info helps.

What, pray tell, was the criteria for chosing these three models? They don't seem to have anything in common. Was it frame color??

The fact that they are different is the main reason for the criteria. Living in the land where if the bikeshop doesn't sell it, they won't recommend it is why I came here to get a little feedback, not to get ridiculed! If this helps...Carbon, Steel/Carbon or Titanium for a recreational rider who rides a few centuries and doesn't care about color.

I don't think you are going to get the answer you are looking for here. They may be all good bikes, but one may be better for you than another. We can't decide that. I ride alot like you and ride steel,Ti and CF.They all make me grin. I tend to like lugged steel better, but could go for an Opera as russ says if it was all steel, because the geometry is identical to others I ride that fit well.

Gee, this is kinda like asking "Which car is better: Mercedes 560 SL, Ferrari 355, or Hummer H2?" The best answer I can think of is this: It Depends...

Give us something to work with. What are you looking for? Short ride bike, ride-all-day bike? Racing bike? how bad are your roads? ETC, ETC.......
