Background: I was selected as a finalist in the Trek Project One Design Contest, and was notified by email on August 20th, from Allison Clark that I would receive a full Trek clothing kit as a runner-up. She asked for clothing sizes and congratulated all of the other finalist. Now she made no mention of delivery, but it appeared that it would ship fairly soon. Not so... I have tried to contact Allison Clark repeatedly to find out a estimated date of shipping (not that I will be needing those clothes during this time) but not even a email to tell me a rough idea of delivery.

Am I making too big of a deal out of this? I don't care if it ships till March, I would just like an idea of when. It's not like I won a custom painted Madone...it's just clothing!

Sorry for the rant. Just would like some suggestions.

It's does not seem terribly unusual to have to wait 10 weeks for a prize. Remember when we were kids and had to send in cereal box tops for little plastic submarines? Those always took at least 6-8 weeks, right? But it's annoying that Trek has not even replied to you. Maybe Allison Clark has left the company...

If you really want your stuff, I'd call Trek (920-478-2191) and ask for the office of the president, John Burke. Politely explain your situation. When you receive poor customer service, go to the top.

Congrats on the prize, btw. Will you post your design?

I remember your prior posting when everyone posted their designs. I also remember seeing your sub-zero design on the trek website announcing the winners. Congrats, by the way. I liked your design. I think I would just pick up the phone and call trek and ask to speek with Clark directly. There were only a handful of winners. She should be able to give you a status report and tell you when you can expect to receive your duds.

Good luck!

Allie Clark is a nice Wisconsin girl who has always been very business like in my dealings with her. Call her and let her know you want an ETA. If the kits aren't there they aren't there.

I won a bike from contest from Specialized last year in which the contest stated I could have any S-Works frame OR any complete Allez Comp or stumpjumper comp level bike. They beat around the bush and then some. Long story short they heavy handed me into the frame as their landed cost was much less on sworks frame than a complete Ultegra bike.....I took the MTB frame, put an 1100 kit on it and moved for 2500 after a few months of use.
