Not sure if this is a component question, but thought I'd ask about the Cateye Double Wireless. What's the gist of the experience with this marvel of technology?
I have the Astrale, and the battery has lasted forever, what is the life on the double wireless - I saw it takes 4 batteries at a time?

I've got the speed/cadence double wireless cateye....the computer itself takes 2 batteries and the transmitter takes another 2 batteries.
I had some issues early on since I was using a Polar heart rate monitor at the same time (more wireless data)...I rode for around 3 weeks and the Cateye was already warning of low battery. Long experiment and story cut short, I ditched the Polar on my rides and everything is fine now. Coming from a wireless engineering perspective, I have no clue how an S710 could interfere with the BATTERY readings, but it removing it solved the issue for me, so who knows.
The manual says that the batteries should be replaced every 6 months, assuming you ride an hour a day. So yea, battery life is lower, but you get ample warning of when the battery should be replaced (the display flashes every second, but still takes data...eventually I think you lose the cadence readings but distance is still logged...haven't had enough time to confirm this yet). Besides, spending a few bucks for 4 x CR2032 batteries shouldn't really be an issue, especially in our sport!
