What saddles would you recommend to stay period with my "new" '83 Paramount? The WTB MTB saddle just doesn't make it. Also, what about a post? DA?

Thanks,
TF

Selle Italia Turbo would work. You can also never go wrong with a Brooks

San Marco Regal, Rolls. Should be easy to find. Plus for white ones.

And those Dura Ace PD-7400 pedals are junk, too. Please send them to me for proper disposal. Cleats too, if you've got 'em. There are special hazardous waste disposal procedures that must be observed with these pedals, something to do with the exotic, Shimano-only grease used to prolong bearing life.

Don't those parts look more 86ish than 83ish? Biopace, pedals, slant parallelogram RD with later DA lettering.

Beautiful bike, please ride it as much as you can. If you race recreationally, spread the retro-love by dusting as many cat 4/5s on $4k beer-can bikes as your legs will allow.

I've never seen them (quite new to cycling) but would like to use the bike occasionally on stock bike night (road bike, no shifting) at the Velo. Would the cleats hold or should I just tighten the straps (which scares the he!! out of me). Any idea where to get a good set of cleats?

Thanks,
TF

If you are building it up eighties style, a brooks saddle would probably already be passe. A selle san marco concor might be okay. And certainly a selle italia turbo.
