This weekend was the second weekend in the mid west collegiate series... we raced sat and sun. Well on sunday, about 16 miles into the race my right leg essentially locked up on me. :( I tried as best as i could to spin it out, but the main pack obviously left me. Anyone ever had these problems and found a solution or just plain know what to do? Thanks

in mtb races or road races where i really had to mash the pedals. a local singlespeed endurance racer recommended that i try endurolytes. i did & haven't had cramping problems since.
try endurolytes - electrolyte replacement capsules

My solution for preventing leg cramps (either inner or outer thighs) has been to add 1/3 teaspoon of baking soda/24oz bottle...especially helpful during hot rides (>50 miles) and 1/3 teaspoon of Morton's Lite Salt (1/4 the sodium content of regular Salt, but also has Potassium)...
There's lots of info on the 'net, here are just a couple:

Works for me (& others).
