Has anyone done this?...I have a fixie I think would be a perfect candidate for such an endeavor...a 1973 Schwinn World Voyageur...I plan to try the whole program on this bike when randonneuring season starts in April but would appreciate any advice or war stories
thanks

I'm thinking of doing the 200k and 300k fixed next year, and maybe even the 400k, but the 600k sounds like more than I'm up for. But who knows, if the 400k goes OK fixed... The 2004 Seattle 600k brevet had a couple guys doing SS, with all the long descents in store... I'm not there yet...
I am considering two 1200k brevet next year... the Seattle and the Davis... on a multi-speed cheater, though.

Do you have the bike you plan to use? I have no real plans to go higher than the 300k on a fixie, at least not this year.

I have 2 fixies that I've ridden on centuries, a Binachi Pista and a custom Vanilla. With a couple fixed gear centuries under my belt I'm thinking a 200k is very reasonable and that a 300k ought to be fine. The Vanilla is a brevet-style bike that built as a "convertible," so I can convert it between multi-speed to fixed gear set-ups. I'm thinking that I'll ride the Vanilla fixed for the 200k & 300k, maybe even 400k, then put on the derailleurs, double crank & multi-speed rear wheel for the 600k & 1200k rides.
