It seems that the esteemed and loftily held United Nations is looking to pass a "forward thinking" proposition that would make pre-emption subject to the United Nations.

This ought to go over swimmingly!!!

Pretty stupid if you ask me...but then again I am trying to think beyond the current administration which make it seem as if a leash law might be a good idea.

I thought one of the reasons this administration went to war in Iraq was to uphold the U.N. mandates.

from what I read on the subject, the proposal was to provide a basis for pre-emptive war under the UN charter. Some folks think that right already exists, so it doesn't require a charter change. It's a proposal to make the UN more accomodating to US hegemonic war-mongering, rather than to try to put a stop to it.

you have your choice
a) Afghanistan (shouldn't include as this was non-pre-emptive)
b) Iraq (pre-emptive)
and if you wait a while
c) Iran (most likely will be pre-emptive)
d) North Korea (same)
the military has great sign up and re-enlistment bonus' right now.
you seem to have the Gung Ho to make a good Marine.
