Well the flip flop hub I ordered finally arrived so I builtup the wheel, threw a BMXfreewheel on one side and a Dura-Ace track cog on the other.

Put it on the bike and the chain will notcatch on the cog teeth.

Whatsize chain am I looking for for a DA track Cog?

The Shimano site says 1/2 inch ; Sheldon Brown says 1/8 inch? Big difference.

Help

Please.

I don't have a useful answer for you except to say that both Sheldon and Shimano are probably correct because they're measuring different dimensions of the chain. 1/2" is the pitch - the distance between links on the chain. All (modern) chains are 1/2" pitch. 1/8" is the width of the chain. Your real question ought to be whether you need 1/8" or 3/32" chain.

1/8" is only for fixed/SS bikes.
3/32" is derailer chain, but is also used on fixed/SS bikes.

track cogs come in both 1/8" and 3/32"....if the chain won't mesh it is 3/32" and the cog is 1/8". 1/2 " is the pitch, not the width, and it is the same for either width.

Worked fine thanks

Asked the LBS for a BMX chain - worked like a charm.
