Looking for a new cyclecomputer to replace my Cateye OS1. I don't need too many bells and whistles. With my Deda Clips for TTs, I am running out of room on the bars and would still like to make a quick change when stage racing (without moving computer and HRM around on bars).

Any suggestions?

I think that's the correct spelling, if not, your LBS can find it for you. Its basically a plastic "knob" that allows you to mount your computer or HRM on TT bars, etc. It has an adjustable strap that fits most any size bar. I am using one on my stem with my computer as I needed to mount a light bracket on my bars for late afternoon rides this winter. This way you can use any cycle computer you choose.

Ciclosport mounts are two-piece and can be rotated 90 degrees fort either handlebar or stem mounting. They are as simple or as advanced as you want, and any LBS that deals with Veltec can get them for you.

Hope this helps

The Cateye cordless 7 mounts to the stem. It has a couple of holes on the bottom that a ziptie slides into. I have my LOOK 381 setup this way. It's very clean and the computer is out of the way

Sigma Sport computers can mount either of those places. I have never use one, so I don't know how good they are, but they are usually pretty cheap compared to other brands.

I use them. like, say, BMWs, they're good and well-engineered. unlike, say, BMWs, they won't break the bank.

I have just looked at Sigma. I have a Sigma HR 1600 and it works, does everything, quite admirably.

Had one in my hand the other day in the shop and couldn't figure out how it would stem mount. Because it uses rubber bands, I see how it would be easy. Do all have that twist-lock mount?

Thanks All.

I had to look it up in my Colorado Cyclist Catalog..Chronometro Nob Computer Nob..$9.99. It's a probably a $.50 part, works like a automotive radiator hose clamp, you can attach it to your stem. I used one for my Vetta RT88 computer as the mount would not go around my oversized bars...Branford Bike also carries them...

That I have a Chronometro nob if you want it. Let me check over the weekend and I'll let you know. I bought one a few months ago for a set aerobars that never happened, so I've never used it. Let me know if you want it.

Thanks for the offer! But I am not looking for something like this because the aerobars only go on for TTs. I didn`t want to be moving everything around twice between stages, so it is easiest to find out-of-the-way permanent location for the computer.

The Mavic mounts on the stem plus no crap on the fork as the magnet is the skewer.

You can mount it on your stem and it's permanent, unless you want to pull it off. When the oversized bars came out a lot of computer mounts would not fit on the 31.7 and 31.8 bars. I slapped a Chronometronob on my stem and it worked great. Only problem is you have to look straight down to get a reading. I don't use mine anymore as Cateye now has computer mounts that will accommodate any size bar....it's not just for aerobars...just trying to make this clear...works great also if you have a wireless computer..

Get it.....Its chaep and also has a cadence feature for about 4$. They are about 17$ and you can mount them on your stem. Fits both reg and oversized bars.

I second the recommendation for the Sigma Sport 1600. It's the only cyclocomputer I know that has a stopwatch (nice for intervals) plus Sigma has really great customer service.

I havent even needed to use the costumer service they are so good.

And i cant stress it enough

THEY ARE SO CHEAP

if you really wanted to you could buy one for every season.

And when hr becomes something that you want:
Go to nashbar.com

Nashbar HR monitor 49.99 and there are some that are even cheaper.
I got my nashbar on sale for 29 bucks
