Sportsman's President. See if you count 'hatchery fish as wild' (like counting fast food jobs as mfring jobs) there is no shortage and then we can gut the program. this is another environmntal/job/ etc.. catastrophe.

Sometimes Bush just seems stupid (any time he is actually speaking). Other times he actually seems evil (when his stupid actions are getting people killed). And then there are times like this one where he comes off like some kind of cheap comic book villian. What's next? Bush advocates torture and murder of cute fuzzy bunnies?

I think he's been well trained in the 'aw shucks regular guy' school of Ronald Reagan that allows an intelligent corporate lackey to escape blame and appear a populist when in all actuality he and his true constituency loathe the people of this demograph.

Well that's certainly a possibility. Doesn't really matter, though--the end result is the same.

Maybe the world will get lucky and he'll really piss off one of these "sportsmen" - the kind that likes assault weapons.

This issue has been getting a lot of press up our way (Portland, OR). People who would never be confused with greens/environmentalists are pretty upset by this idea. They know that wild salmon are in decline and we need to do something about it.

and CA, OR, and WA voted for Kerry. as we saw with the Energy Scam during his last tenure he tends to like to FKCU the states who vote against him. We'll see more of this now that he has his environmental mandate.
