2 out of the last 3 rides I've taken my wireless computer has stopped working. Once inside, it starts working again. I live in L.A., and temp on both rides was in high 40s. Could that have something to do with it?
I'm going to try replacing the batteries on the wireless transmitter, but I've only got 1000 miles on the computer so they shouldn't already be dead.
Btw, I have the HAC4.

I experienced garbage readings once and awhile from my Vetta RT88 (speed). Try replacing your batteries first. The battery for my transmitter was good for about 2K.

Try cleaning the contacts on the head unit.

Check the placement of pick ups. On my 720i I was having some weird troubles when I first mounted it. Turns out it is very important that the pickup signal does not cross with the linke signal. All kinds of weird things, same problem was happening though, indoors fine, on the bike NOPE. I would reposition everything, clean contacts, and check batteries. All of those those options should help you eliminate the problems. Should not be the weather, I frooze the display on my polar on Sat. 28 degrees...burrrrr, worked fine though.

Are you riding at night with a HID light? The HID light will interfere with a wireless computer rendering it useless.

Actually, one time I was, the second time, no. Although the second time the light was mounted but not turned on. And I've ridden at night with the light before and had no problems. I'll pay attention to that and see if that pattern continues.
Wondering also if batteries are just low enough that the light is interfering.

Well the "not turned on" one is a mystery, but when the light is on the computer won't work or will work so intermittently that it will be useless. If the computer works on the trainer I doubt you need new batteries, though concededly I did the same thing (replaced head unit and transmitter batteries) before giving up on using the HID with that computer.
If you have HID, the wireless computer just won't work.
FWIW my experience is based on a Specialized wireless computer and a Niterider HID light. This is a widely recognized phenomenon, though.
