....besides the exchange rate now between the dollar and euro - intensive and expensive Research & Development! Here's where  new parts are born and current stuff is kept up to snuff. But we wouldn't want it any other way, would we?
Gawd Bless the lab geeks!!
1. "Testing for fatigue strength"
2. "Campagnolo Test Center"
3. "Scanning electron microscope"

Two thoughts:
1. With the switch to 10 speed and the crackdown on internet resellers by Shimano the price difference is really not very much any more.
2. I really want one of those Campy lab coats!

There may be not much difference in Shimano vs Campagnolo in America now, but there sure is a difference down here! Record sells as a groupset for NZ$2800-3000+ at the cheapest (no hubs), whereas Shimano Dura Ace sells at around NZ$2200-2500. Plus, Campagnolo cassettes and chainrings cost way more than Shimano.
All that said, I still bought Campy! :D
Seriously, its good to see that Campagnolo has such testing and R&D in-house, plus those cool Lab coats!
No doubt Shimano has their own high-tech R&D Dept. as well. I thought you guys ought to see these tho' - you rarely see pics like this from the Campy 'Inner Sanctum'.
I think the $ for my latest group & wheelset barely paid part of the insurance premium on that fancy microscope rig!
