Just saw these at nashbar, anyone used them? Are they good quality? I'm looking for my first track cog for my Langster, kinda unfamiliar with the fixed scene coming from SS mtb'ing.
The Langster came with a lock ring, but should I get the dura-ace one? Sorry to sound like such a newb, but I guess I am.

I haven't ridden with a SOMA cog, but I know that they are a quality company. Some of their branded stuff is just renamed quality products. They are associated with the distributor Merry Sales, who owns Interloc and MS also used to distribute Breezer bikes. So a quality relationship there.
Their mtn bike tire is just a white wall version of the red/yellow/blue walled Panaracer Fire XC tire.
Their skewer lockset is the same one sold in other shops as a Kryptonite product.

Their seatposts and stems are Kalloy OEM jobs.

I have the larger sizes, 18,20,21 in Soma, my smaller cogs are Dura-ace. Got them from worldclasscycles: http://www.worldclasscycles.com/Track_components2.htm
I have a Dura Ace lockring, but my Langster didn't come with one. Why get a new one if you don't need it? Also, be very, very careful/patient when putting the fixed cog on. The threads on the Langster hub are very finicky, go slow! Make sure to grease that cog before installing! Good luck, you'll really enjoy fixed riding.

I put a Soma 16t on my Phil hub about a month ago when my LBS told me my DA was on backorder from QBP. It's high quality, went on like butter, and is showing no signs of wear. Good stuff.

I have a 18T and 21T. They do spin on just like they were made to. Even have a polished
look as well. Very nice get some you'll love em. I'm thinking of getting a 19T and 20T
myself.
