Shave what? My back?

Since it's not bikini season( trust me, that is a visual you can do without ;) ), I shave my face everyday.... I've never shave my legs

flawed...shave what? My face? legs? nether regions? ;)

Legs about 1x a week during summer months. every couple of weeks when I get sick of looking at my weird hairy legs in the winter. Face? pretty much daily though I often skip it on weekends. Nether regions? I'll never tell!!

I just shaved this morning. I do it about once a week or so. I make a point of doing before races.

Strangely, I made a big deal about shaving my legs before I did started doing it. How would I explain it to others?...What will my riding buds think?...What will my non-riding buds think?...blah blah blah... Now, I just think it's sexy and the chicks dig it big time!

Sorry to hear you're single. I'd like to get in line behind JS. I'm sure I could live with a woman who rides faster, and I think I could live with one writes better. Young, smart, cute and fun loving looks better to me than podium girls this Friday.

I decided to let the hair grow over the winter, so I quit shaving around Thanksgiving. Save a few bucks on razors... Cold jeans against bare shaved legs can be a bit much.

Now the hair is 1/2" long, and I can't stand even looking at my legs! Hairly legs seem so wierd and ugly after years of shaving. I even considered taking a picture and posting the horror, but thought better.

So, F-it! I'll start shaving again tonight!

Flawed: twice a week. It isn't visually too gross after 3-4 days, but I find it's quicker that way (less razor clogging, etc).

Yes, always try to time my shaves for race day. Gotta intimidate the competition, right?

[QUOTE]

Yeah, I know what you mean be shaving -- legs. But, like some of the other guys, I can't resist making comments about other places. Here's my frequencies:

Face: Every day
Head: Every 2-3 days (unless I have something really important, then I do it every day)
Legs: From the time that the first crocus appears (March in Baltimore) until the leaves turn on the trees (October) every 2-3 days. No shaving for the rest of the year.
Other places: I'm not telling. I'll just say that I have no problems with hair being on my body in places where it was when I was in my teens and 20s. The places that really bug me are the places where it begins to sprout later in life, like around my ears and on my back.

I actually have to shave the tip of my nose once in a while because a few stray hairs like to grow there! :)

I cheat.
In the winter months and in early spring, I only shave below the knee, because of knee warmers. I just won't wear tights unless it's under 20 degrees. With knee and arm warmers (and enough layers underneath), you never have to wear a jacket.

Me too. This thread reminds me of the Seinfeld episode "The Muffin Top"

KRAMER: Hey Jerry. What is this? Lady Gillette? What's going on?

JERRY: What? Can't I get a moment's peace?

KRAMER: What are you doing to yourself?

(Jerry walks into camera view with his chest covered with shaving cream.)

JERRY: I can't stop. Alex thinks I'm naturally hairless.

KRAMER: You can't keep this up. Don't you know what's going to happen? Everytime you shave it, it's going to come in thicker and fuller and darker.

JERRY: Oh that's an old wives tale.

KRAMER: Is it? Look at this.

(Kramer walks off-screen and opens his shirt. On-screen, Jerry reels from the sight.)

KRAMER: (high pitched voice) Look at it! Look at it! And it's all me. I shaved there when I was a lifeguard.

JERRY: Oh come on. That's genetics. That's not going to happen to me.

KRAMER: Won't it? Or is it already starting to happen?

Twice a week, usually--neck only.

Those two clods with the shaved backs are the greatest arguments for stem cell research I've come across....

There should be a "I don't cuz I don't wanna" choice... We don't always do just what local laws & SOs require...

The stoopid thing limits me to only 10 poll choices. Trust me, I had a whole bunch more seriously silly ones thought up.

The EpicSki polls sometimes have two dozen choices. They really bust out some serious silliness.

So, where ARE the PGs today, anyhoo? Not that I'm a big PG follower (I generally eye whatever they're standing next to tho), but it's just weird to have a Friday without a bunch of cheesecake shots on the General Forum.

I'm back to living in a madhouse full of roommates - barely have room for me and the bikes, and the housemeister's mutt is kinda passive-aggressive and does not get along well at all with other dogs. Sorry to say that I personally am NOT a dog person in any way, shape or form.

The best part is that, this being Boulder i.e. a college town and all that, two of the roomies are college boys - 19 and 22. I may just survive the experience... actually they're pretty well housebroken and will even wash dishes voluntarily before they become biohazard material. The 19 YO even recently resurrected my wheezy old PC from a major crash (boot sector bombage). Quote of the day from this character: "Whoa, this is SOOO COOL... I can't BELIEVE someone your age has all these AWESOME techno CD's..."

I had to seriously count to ten on that one - after all he was doing me a favour by resurrecting my sorry old PC. It pains me to think this cat was born the year I graduated HS.

Yeah, they are both adorable. I have to keep reminding myself that they're practically half my age.

The part that trips me out is that the 19 YO has been borrowing my books and asking to burn copies of my CDs ever since I moved in. Guess there's still hope for the next generation.

It's actually a pretty good living arrangement because we all have compatible interests & lifestyles despite being a couple of thirtysomethings and a couple of college kids. We've got a massive LOTR "marathon" planned for when the ROTK extended edition comes out next week. The guys have already drafted me to whip up some party food for it.

Thanksgiving was pretty amusing. I realised about 2PM on Wednesday that none of my housemates was going home for the holiday, so we all piled in my car (currently the only one that runs reliably) and decided to do an "anti-turkey" fling for T-day, seeing as none of us is wild about turkey or the traditional holiday BS.

I have to say, these modern young males are pretty useful in the kitchen - they actually had opinions about decent ingredients, and weren't afraid to help out. We settled on a great menu - curried shrimp, carrot/fennel soup and arugula / feta salad. I made the 22 YO's day by showing him a surefire way to impress girls - an affordably elegant dessert of high quality FV ice cream with raspberry / mint leaf garnish sprinkled with pomegranate seeds.

I've done a couple of meals for them, but don't think I'm the one doing all the labour while they play on the Xbox. All 3 make good sous-chefs and are interested in learning this stuff.

But you gotta do it my way ;) These are the sorts of podium chix I care about:

hem. I don't shave at all, since I am a nearly hairless ape.. and a triathlete who usually rides a road bike, so I figured I need to leave the hair as a warning signal.

my facial hair left untended becomes a goatee, so I shave that daily, for fear of appearing trendy.

I would think shaving benefits mtbikers more, since we crash more often (hence more cuts/bruises). I started shaving my legs because I was tired of pulling my hairs out with band aids/tapes.

Glad to help!

If we are talking legs, weekly in race season. Infrequently in winter/base miles mode.

And as far as polling I always try to leave one Ralph Wiggam joke as an option. Its always wins.

haven't shaved most of my face for 25 years, the edges and neck every coupla days

have never shaved my legs, but riding has actually reduced the hair on my shins/lower legs for some reason

I would shave, well trim maybe, my back if I could, but I can't reach it (and if I could reach it I wouldn't mind etching designs in it on occasion I suppose...). The Kramer effect here or on my chest could be deadly. If I could only get this hair to migrate to my head I'd be a happy guy...

I shave my head every week or two to keep it all even; the Kramer effect doesn't work here unfortunately

I've only needed to shorten hair elsewhere once or twice in my life, I'm afraid of the Kramer effect here if I actually did shave...

Quotes from Pirates of the Caribbean:

Mr. Gibbs: Then, on the fourth day, he roped himself a couple of sea turtles, lashed 'em together and made a raft.
Will Turner: He roped a couple of sea turtles.
Mr. Gibbs: Aye. Sea turtles.
Will Turner: What did he use for rope?
Jack Sparrow: [from beside them] Human hair.
[pause]
Jack Sparrow: From my back.

Are these people finding family members or friends to do this? How in the heck are you supposed to shave your back on your own?
