Read the race bible, know the website by heart, now what else to know about this race?

Is it run well? Draw a great pool of racers?

You need to get out and ride the course if you live in SoCal. The circuit and RR's are as tough and dangerous as they come so positioning within the race is critical. Went out with the team last Sunday and one of the guys almost went down at the bottom of one of the descents. There was a dip which couldn't be seen til we got to the bottom. Now we know its there and will steer clear of it for sure. Also, there are countless patches of dirt on the circuit course on 180 turns no less! Went out again today and many clubs were out riding the course together...some coming as far as San Diego. I must have done the course at least 20 times and I'm still unsure about a few things. The only thing the race bible is good for is that it tells you where you can park. Need to ride the course!

This is probably THE premier event held in the L.A. area. Just look at the list of the Pros riding. All the men's categories are full and some had be re-opened to accomodate demand. I've done a fair share of races but personally this will be my first stage race event and I'm already feeling the pre-race jitters/nervousness. But I've put in the work, paid the price, and now I'm anxious to see where it's taken me. Good luck in your race.

Actually, I'll be there supporting my wife...we're driving 6 hours wed. afternoon, so no pre-registration for us.
