I start every post with this caveat : I'm a total newb. I got my fixie in October, and yeah, I had my LBS build it up. Before that, I had an ill-fitting gearie since august. Before that, I hadn't ridden a bike a handful of times since I was 12.

Anyway, I am totally enamored with my fixie -- it's a late-eighties lugged steel Basso, set up with handbuild Velocity rims from my LBS, 42 x 18 gearing, and Campy Athena brakes.

I've been negligent posting much of anything about it, not really figuring I had a place to say too much, but now that I've ridden about 1500 miles on it, I thought you guys might be interested in a few of the things I've put together:

1) Some pictures of the redhead -- I think she's pretty darned sexy. And, yeah, I f$cking personify my bike, and think that a steel machine has sex appeal. Gotta problem with that? Wanna see her?

3) Ride reports -- Last week I started taking the digital camera with me on longer rides. Wanna hear / see about em?

Update -- yeah, so I when I posted this I wasn't at my home computer -- I'll fire off the pictures soon.

Where's the ride report?
Where are the pics? I won't say anything/one is sexy without a proper pic! ;)

I particularly like the little details on the lugged frameset... the 'B' logos on the brake bridge, fork crowns, and bottom brackets are beautiful.

Always admired Basso bikes - think they have always been really good values. Enjoy!

Beleive it or not, it's my girlfriend's place. And she laughed a good bit at that reference, too. :)

thanks.

Thanks! Nice looking bike. A friend of mine has an old Basso that he uses for "climbing" rides (it has a triple). Very nice bikes. I like the fenders. Zefal?
