Quick question for Redline owners: Are the frame sizes measured c-to-c or c-to-t? The Redline website indicates that "all measurements are c-to-c," but the little geometry diagram indicates a c-to-t meausurement on the seat tube.

I'm looking at a 52cm Conquest Pro online that I shouldn't dally on, and the 53.5 top tube should be just right (my last road bike had a 54cm tt, and fit well). 52cm c-to-c seat tube would work well too (road bike was 53 c-c), but 52 c-t would be rather short, looking at how the frame is constructed. I'm 5-9, with kinda short arms.

I know that the fit most significantly depends on tt length, and that cyclocross frames are usually smaller. But my guess is that the frame is too small for someone at your height. unless you sit more upright or in a more relaxed position. But that's my inexperienced opinion . . .

There is are sites on the net where you can punch in your measurements . . . and you're given proper frame measurements. One that i've used in the past is:

For redline geometry i use the chart on greenfishsports.com . . . and size is measured c-t . . . probably just the same chart as redline anyway.

(if your watching ebay . . . i think i might be looking at the same frame and i'm only 5'5" . . . see you at the aucion end !)

Thanks for the input, bm. I know that 53.5 sounds short for me, but I did a fit kit with a knowledgable shop where I bought my road bike frame, and it indicated a 54 tt as ideal for me. So I bought an Italian frame that size. At the time, European geometry included shorter tt's than on American bikes (probably still do). Can't remember what my stem length was though...

The bike I'm thinking about is not on ebay, so don't sweat it. If the redlines really are measured c-t, this frame may be too short. However, on another thread regarding the Conquest Pro, a poster or two indicated they were c-c.

Still hoping for definitive info.

I am 5' 8" and have a 50cm Conquest Pro. It fits well. Seat post is out about 2cm more than my road bike and I have an 11cm stem flipped up. I personally like the more upright position. I'd guess my back angle is about 10 degrees higher on the cx bike.

My Colnago was 54cm with a 120 stem. My current road frame has a virtual 53.5 cm tt. My 52cm Redline has a 120 stem with more rise. I could probably use a shorter stem, maybe a 110. I have long legs for my size and a short torso. Hope this helps. It sounds liek a 52 Redline will be close to what you need.
