BlueMasi1 03-11-2004, 01:42 PM Thumbs up in both catagories. I do find the release to be a tighter than Look pedals. badge118 03-24-2004, 11:20 AM Unlike most other components there is very little difference between the Chorus and Centaur pedal, even the weight is darn close. Save the money and go Centaur on the pedals. Either way they're great. Bocephus Jones 03-24-2004, 01:47 PM What are riders thoughts on the Chorus Pedal's comfort and performance? I have both Chorus and Record...both are great. SteveD 03-30-2004, 10:39 AM After several years of riding Chorus ProFit, then Chorus ProFit Plus pedals, I have finally given up on them. I really wanted them to work too as I've alway been a big Campy fan. This winter I broke 3 different sets of cleats riding in frozen New England. I think the plastic got too brittle in the cold weather. My biggest complaint, however, was that the connection between the cleats and the pedals always felt loose. I read another poster somewhere describe it as though he was standing on an egg. I always felt a constant rocking between the cleat and the pedals. Even when the cleats were new, there would be a clicking noise on my upstroke as the shoe would lift away from the pedal. It drove me crazy... I switched to Speedplay Zero's a few weeks ago and they seem to be a big improvement. badge118 03-31-2004, 05:44 AM My biggest complaint, however, was that the connection between the cleats and the pedals always felt loose. Can't answer to riding in to col a weather though I say hi! to the trainer when it gets below freezing, guess I'm a wuss.:) I considered the speedplays. Did you have to change your seat height at all? I heard they have a much lower stack height, my concern was not wanting to goof around with my fit, and since I can be on the bike at times for over 100 miles at a shot Even a little change can hurt after a while. I suppose the clicking was worst when the cleats were a bit worn down, but did very little walking in them and it still clicked enough to have my riding partners comment about it. Anyway, I didn't change the seat height on my bike after switching to Speedplays. A year or so ago, I had a bout with ITBS and lowered the seat as a result. My knee is fine now and not changing anything effectively brought me back to the proper height. il sogno 04-02-2004, 11:42 PM Though not perfect, my Campy Choruses are the best pedal I've ever owned by a good margin. They're comfortable. They're easy and positive to click into, and a snap to click out of. They're light. They're beautiful to look at. They never release unless I want them to. They hold me in more securely and with more stability than my Looks ever did. They beat out the Time Atacs I had on my MTB, and the Eggbeaters and SPD's, too. The only pedal I ever had that beat the Choruses in any parameter were my 1972 era Campy Records - a set of pedals that had bearings smooth to the point of being miraculous. The bearings on my Choruses may be excellent. But the bearings on those old record pedals were in a class by themselves. |
