Ok,
So I've located two really good deals on bikes. One will get me a Single Speed for cheap, the other will get me a 2003 Jamis Nova for cheap as well. Not decided which I'll jump on.
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about he 2003 Jamis Nova. I've located a NOS bike. It was hell finding the old spec sheet. Drive Train is Tiagra. Except for:
Crank - TruVativ Elita 52/42/30
Bottom Bracket - TruVative Isis Drive SL
Headset - Dia Compe SAS
Wheelset - Mavic MA3, LX hubs
Fork - Kinesis Aluminum
I don't have any fundamental issues with this type of build. I was thinking it would be a nice starting point to swap parts to a Surly Cross Check at a later date. Input would be nice. Specifically, how does one manage an Aluminum fork? Wouldn't that rattle your fillings loose?
Bike won't be raced, but it would be nice to have a bike to consider racing next year. I'll mostly use it to get out and train. I was thinking a cross bike would be nicer to ride/commute around Philly than a high$$$ road bike.
Thanks again.
