Any experience with Customer Getaways or Graham Baxter Sporting Tours?
I'm looking into a guided cycling tour in July.
Thanks!

MarkS 01-05-2005, 05:21 PM Any experience with Customer Getaways or Graham Baxter Sporting Tours? I'm looking into a guided cycling tour in July. Thanks! First, I would consider a self-guided tour. I've done it three times (2002, 2003 and 2004). Not everything has gone according to plan (for example, the rental car caught on fire in 2002, I broke my shoulder a week before the 2003 trip and my traveling companion did not take as well to France as I would have liked -- we had to stop at every McDonald's in sight, and in 2004 we missed the publicity caravan -- something that my kids love to see -- because the race that day was far ahead of schedule). But, I have had a great time each year and have had a lot of good experiences that I don't think that I would have had were I on an organized tour. Second, insofar as your getting information on the guided tours, I would cross post this on the General Forum. I know that we are supposed to stay on the more specific forums when we have subject specific questions. But, I also know that there are people who participate in the General Forum who usually do not lurk or participate here who have lots of knowledge about organized tours to the TdeF. Whatever way you go, you should have a great time. Good luck. topcarb 01-07-2005, 09:16 AM I would very highly recommend Velo Classic Tours (www.veloclassic.com). I took the Spring Classics trip in the past and it was awesome. First rate all the way around, and Im going back with them on my next trip. Send me a PM if youd like more info. topcarb |
