Snow was on the menu for today, and the forcasters were right! Certainly a recipe for fun... one of the better rides in i've had in a while. Toodling along on (and in) the white stuff just invited play time, made only better by that sweet warm smugness at seeing how much trouble all the cars were having. That kind of warmth keeps one cozy during those cold winter rides.

1) Dark and bad photo of the winter scene out the morning window
2) Snowflakes :-)
3) Fresh tracks... it is good to leave a mark on a day like today. Hopefully people will think a little differently (better) about cycling as a possibility. One can wish.
4) The fireman - "Dude, i saw this guy on a 10-sp totally lay it out in front of us. We were bearing down on him with a 60,000 pound machine. It was so funny". Nice guys :-)
5) Traffic sucked for cars today. It rocked for me!
6) A bit of trouble going up this hill for some drivers.
7) mmmm.... pretty
8) Winter wonderland
9) Yeah, i was having fun.
10) Not quite like back in alaska, but still the post ride snow stuck. Hasn't melted off the bike 6 hours later, either...

Hey Damon,
Cool pics!!! I love the guys with the snow shovels. I thought Vancouver mostly received rain during the winter...must be kind of a shock to folks living there to wake up to the white stuff. Keep the ride reports coming.
Cheers, Wayne
ps. We just got snow last night, a ride report from northern Sweden should be coming shortly...

I had to take a picture of the firemen shovelling snow... something about that just reeks irony. Vancouverans were all very surprised with the snow, and apparently according to everyone i know who drove to the office, everyone *else* is a terrible driver in the snow. Not quite sure how that works.

Northern Sweden just got snow? I thought you guys were known for the white stuff. Looking forward to your winter accounts :-)

Very cool pics. Thanks for sharing. I've never ridden in the snow. Looks like it would be a blast.
Keep posting,

Nice bike!

I heard it from others that the city was brought to a near stand still by 2cm (1 inch) worth of snow.

Very nice pics, but I tell you what, you wouldn't catch me dead on a bike on those once in a blue moon snow days we get down here. Hell, I even stay off the sidewalks. No telling where a car will end up when you've got a Southerner at the wheel and snow on the ground.
