an impulse buy but i've wanted a titanium bike a long time... i love steel too so i'm definitely not giving up the gunnar.

the retro grouch in me was kind of against a compact geometry but the large fits me perfect and at the price i got the bike, plus being full campy chorus, 19.5lbs, it would make a nice contrast to the roadie that's 105/ultegra, 21lbs.

too bad all the damn rain... in between thundershowers i rode up and down the street but no real testing yet. can't wait to do one of my 50mile loops that has a decent climb in it.

the finish is gorgeous i have to admit and it's nice to not worry about chips, etc. don't particularly like the looks of the integrated headset, but alas, this is the "modern" bike while the gunnar's go the 1" headset and skinny tubes.

find a ti or carbon seatpost and feel those 10in of exposed flex.. seriously, you can have some more comfort from a long ti post.

i love thomson seatposts....the 2 bolt clamp is rock solid reliable and the weight isn't bad. but you're right, with the long post on the compact geometry, heck even on my mtn bike, i've wondered if ti or carbon would make a difference.

which manufacturers make a quality carbon or ti post with the dual bolt clamp design?

the best ti post money can buy is a moots.. but you can try the sette that's advertized on rbr... i've heard noce comments around them. $50. not bad. don't know about their length! seems you need a 350 to 450 post... what about campy?
