Also checkairbomb.com (http://store.airbomb.com/searchresult.asp?CartId={3C3CBBF8-64D5-48DEVERESTE-8BF6-A69001F97035}) , it's a few dollars more but in a few more colors and sizes.

My wife wants a cross bike but she is under 5'. Surly has a 42 frame but AEbikes doesn't have one at the low price. This site has it in black and you can get black and red any many sizes for $318.67. They also price match but has to be for identical product which AEbikes doesn't have.

HHHHHHH, and so far Surly is the only frame I can find that small. Anyone know of a better deal than the normal $400+?

What are my options if I want to use this for full loaded touring? I like the idea of picking it up now, building it up as funds permit, then using it for winter commuting as well. And what's up with the 120$ discount for green?

Not really familiar with touring frames, so can't comment on the eyelets. If you need photo's let me know.

I was kinda wondering about the green also. Maybe it's an older year, or didn't sell well.

I rode it today for the first time. Great frame!!

Any bike shop should be able to get you an alternative front fork from Surly. the fork on the Long Haul Trucker has eyelets for front-loaded touring.

Actually green is the new 2005 color. Why the price difference? I dunno.

Is it a better option to purchase the Surly complete, or build it up starting with the frame?
I can get the complete bike for $700, and the frame only - $286.

I'd like to build my wheels with XT (135mm) disc hubs, then if I ever got the urge (or the money) I could get a karate monkey and already have wheels. The wheels that come on the built bike don't look too strong, and I like strong. I guess I could always ride the "stock" wheels into the ground, or until I got the urge.

Anyway, I guess if I'm going to start changing things, then it seems that I should start out with just the frame and build it up like I want to. If I did buy the frame, how hard is it to face it? I've always built with a pre used frame, and have never had to face the head tube, chase the bottom bracket etc. If I have to take it to my LBS to have this done, I might be better off just buying from them, even though it will be at least $100 more.

Lots of questions, thanks for your time, sorry for the thread hijack.
