View Full Version : Chorus crank with veloce BB?

I know that a chorus crank and veloce BB won't work in normal cases, but I am building up a single speed commuter with some old Chorus cranks I have lying around, and I also happen to have a 115mm (for a triple) veloce BB. I was wondering if anyone knew if the taper was okay to use? As far as I know the only difference with Chorus/Record and the otheris the BB width, not the taper. I don't need the chainline to be perfect. I just need the BB and crank to work without reaming out the crank by doing something foolish.
Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks,
-Pete

Taper is the same, but the poor chain line won't let you use a normal single speed hub. It might work if you use an 8 or 9 speed cassette hub, and use many spacers to move youe single cog to the outside position (where a 12 might go)
All Campy BB's have the same taper (I'm not sure about BB's from the 60's and 70's)

I actually intend on using a 9/10 speed hub. With spacers on the left and right side of a single coag to make it work. I'm still looking for the appropriated Chorus BB to use (for cheap). I think I can make it work, but it might not be pretty.
