The president must start with his own house before he preaches to the masses

Darkstar 01-21-2005, 05:22 AM They are now college graduates and should serve in the US Freedom Corps or AmeriCorps. Bush did state that it is each American's duty to volunteer. This is a great time to serve in this capacity. Obviously they are not joining th eArmy so why not follow their father's advise. I served 2 years as an AmeriCorps Vol. before graduate school and it was two great years. Heck, they can even serve in D.C. and still live in the White House

I thought one was going into teaching... that's practically a volunteer job.

Word is she ended up being "not hired" since she was not qualified. (I think yahoo carried the story a couple of days back.

Maybe they're just Daddy's little rich girls who won't do anything aside from, well, nothing. They have lived a life of priveledge, and will continue to do so, just like their Dad. They'll get married to some up and coming right wing wacko (kind of like their Dad), and then just live out their lives in Gin bliss no doubt.

Is it just me or is the one that looks like the Mom sporting a boob job? I seem to remember thinking she was a bit lacking in that department and then I saw a shot of her on CNN's webpage yesterday that made it look like she had quite a rack.

The Bush twins are in a no win situation. Whatever they do, they will invite criticism. Given the very serious security concerns that must surround both of the girls (How much effort would any number of terrorist groups give to kidnap or behead one of them?), they cannot go anywhere or do anything without the US government incurring huge costs for their protection. So, maybe they just should hole up at Camp David for the next four years, watch soap operas and get drunk every day.
I don't think too much of the twins' father and they don't seem too impressive either. But, they are in an impossible situation. They may be rich and their father may be powerful. But, I fell sorry for them. Give them a break.

That aughta freak everyone out.
Spunout 01-21-2005, 07:33 AM Volunteer in some war-torn country to teach kids and re-build homes. Something far out. Join the Sierra Club, volunteer for UNICEF foreign service. Let them see (and report back to the world) what 'Shock and Awe' looks like from the other side.

You have a great idea. And, if it weren't for the security concerns, I would advocate it. But, if Barbara or Jena volunteered anywhere, we probably would have to send tens if not hundreds of secret service agents or military personnel to protect them. Whatever benefit their volunteering would have would be far outweighed by the cost of protecting them.
