Anybody had a pair of Sidis sqeak like an old rocking chair? I have a pair of Sidi Genius 4 mesh shoes that I got last year to eventually replace my comfy old red and silver Sidi Titans. I've been trying them since Christmas Day and they are driving me absolutely nuts! Every downstroke...creak...squeak...creak...squeak...AHH H!!! I've tried cleat re-positioning, wax and lube on the surfaces, and greasing the screws; but no good. I've tried 3 other bikes, 3 different look pedels and the squeak stays right there. Any ideas guys? Will Sidi take them back for an exchange w/o recipt? Not sure but I think I got them from www.TotalCycling.com. It seemed like a good deal at the time, about $130 USD.
As a side note the Titans DON'T squeak.

Key phrase== "Look pedals". I have never seen a pair of Sidi's that squeeked (and I have seen tons of them), but I have seen more then my fair of squeeking Look cleats, as they are famous for it.
Try riding them w/o Look pedals and see if they still squeek.

I was in my LBS the other day buying some new Look pedals and I brought up a conversation with the owner about the dreaded Look squeak (if you use Look's). He said the best thing he found was using Pledge furniture polish. I guess you could try it on other pedals also, if you don't use Looks. I seldom have problems with squeaking pedals, but the new Looks have cleats with teflon inserts, however they work best with the newer model Look pedals (as far as unclipping)...He said that if you mount your bike on a roof rack, lots of stuff gets blown into the pedals causing squeaks......if you don't use Looks or a roof rack, guess it's the shoes...c.f soles by any chance? it could also be the curvature of the sole (from reading other posts about squeaks)..

I also had the squeak with my Look / Genius 4's, and was told to try something waxy between where the cleats and pedals meet. So, for a lack of anything better, I sacrificed an old Chapstick and put a bit on the cleats....problem solved.

Sometimes the front velcro toe strap will rub against the tongue and create a squeek. I was sitting around at a gas station waiting on someone and discovered this. Clean underneath or apply a touch of some type of lube.
The Look pedals and the cleat interfaces are also likely candidates.
