I’m about to build up my first fixed gear, it will be a 56 cm surly cross check. I would normally go with 175mm crank arms, but am I asking for trouble going with long arms on a fixed gear? I’m getting worried about cornering. The crosscheck does have a higher bottom bracket then most road frames. Any insight on the matter would help Thanks

www.sheldonbrown.com. (http://www.sheldonbrown.com.) 175's will be long, I usually ride 175's and have 165's on my fixie.

175's no problem for me (with first-generation Look pedals). I don't corner as hard on the fixed gear as I do on the road bike, FWIW.
