Please give me your opinion about which is the better bike.

2001 Bianchi XL Boron frame with carbon fork, 105 groupo, and Shimano R540 wheelset

or

2004 Trek 2200, OCLV Carbon frame, Bontrager Carbon fork, Bontrager Race wheelset, and Shimano Ultegra crank and rear derailur (basically a stock 2200).

What bike would you buy and what would youpay?
Thanks! Ron

The 2200 is not an OCLV Carbon frame. The only carbon on that bike is the seat stay and fork. The rest of the frame is their "ZR 9000" alloy. (fancy name for Alum.?)

Assuming both fit you well and you like the ride of both equally well, I would pick the 2200 because of the better Ultegra group (except for the Front Der.). I would not pay more than $1,500 for it.
