I think that was the whole point. Even if it was dumb, everyone remembered the ad the next day. People are talking about it. Effective commerical.

This commercial is all the rage now!! It is top 5 on a few end-user polls of best superbowl commercials this year.

And get this. They paid for 2 comercial spots for $2.4 mill each. After the first one aired, the NFL execs called Fox TV and pushed them around. Fox folded and cancelled the second airing of the commercial even though it had already been pre-sanitized and approved.

So anyway, the godaddy has been on Howard Stern the past couple of days. It's been on KCBS news radio, commentary, etc. The publicity they will get from this is enormous. Plus they get their $2.4 mill back.

As far as I'm concerned, more power to them. They were brave enough to swim upstream so let them reap the rewards. Plus they put my faith back in brunettes!
