We are planning a road bike trip to AZ in April. We are recreational riders and would like to ride 25-50 miles daily. Any suggestons about what city we should make home base? We also like hiking and it would be nice to have some good restaurants nearby.

Tucson isn't a bad place to start looking. Lots of rides, lots of restaurants. As for hiking, there are Saguaro Nat'l Park East, Saguaro Nat'l Park West , the Mt. Lemmon area. Good bike shops in town. Bike friendly town.
