I just got my application in the mail today. Looks like they changed the starting location. Other than that, same as years before. I have actually considered riding the MTN course on my new cross bike. I have been told it isn't too severe that a cross bike can't handle it.

Yes, I will be at the SF Century. They moved the start because of the high traffic volume on Zia Road and everyone trying to park around the school. I think the final straw was the guy who got crushed while getting his bikeout of the back of his car. Some woman was trying to park behind the car behind his, bumped the car which trapped him between his bumper and the one behind him. (does this all make sense?) We were there and saw it. Some of my buddies helped lift the car so he could be removed. I can't remember what the extent of his injuries were.
The "mtn bike" course is defintaly doable on a cross bike. the only section not on pavement anymore is about a nine mile stretch between Highway 14 and Galisteo. Someday that will proabably all be paved. Which quite frankly we all can't wait for up here. It would mean a new loop out the south side of town.
I be on my trusty Gunnar. The sfroadriders start about 7 AM.

I'm registered, #30. Doesn't mean I'll do it, but I am leaning in that direction. Just put a compact crank on my Gunnar, and I'd like to try it out.
