I have used 3 of the videos: time trial special, hill climbing, and the one I dread the most- suffer-o-rama. I guess that would make suffer-o-rama my favorite. A good mix of intervals, tempo, and recovery. Can't wait to get them now! Keeping up with Junior 02-18-2005, 08:23 AM Of the two DVD's I own Suffer-O-Rama is my favorite. Structured intervals that I can make as hard as I want. With warmup time it fills an hour. As redliner noted, most of the tapes need more warmup time. For my initial purchase I got Have Mercy which is a two hour compilation. You can tell it is a compilation and it does not flow as well as the individual DVD's. If you wanted to ride with the remote and pick and choose which sets to do then its a good purchase. I am too lazy and prefer to just follow what Coach Troy tells me. If you are looking for some really hard intervals to develop your sprint then get the newly released Sprinting Machine. Some maximum efforts with rest in between. I got to star in the filming of this one and by the end of the taping that afternoon everyone was wiped. My favorite of course would be the [u]Aero Base Builder IV [u]. This one is only my favorite because I got to ride between my Hot wife and my Hot teamate (female too). I have ridden with a couple of the other Base Builders at the LBS. In reality I would prefer to watch a tour tape or movie and just exercise some self discipline to work hard enough on these tapes which are basicly grinding out some miles with a little bit of structure. So get the DVDs that focus on the areas you want to develop. Avoid the compilations. Get tour tapes instead of Aero Base Builder's. The Spinervals site has some recommend grouping. IIRC there was a link to reviews or I googled it that listed what the structure of each DVD is. Disclaimer; although I got to star in a couple DVDs I do not get any royalties. fliprider 03-23-2005, 08:53 AM Great recommendations! I've just ordered Suffer-o-Rama, Tough Love, and Totally Time Trial. I already own the Uphill Grind, Time Trial Special, and Recover and Techique. Currently the Time Trial Special is my favorite -- it just seems to give me the best workout.
