What's up with this PG forum? Are there no rules? Like there isn't already enough free porn on the internet? Get lost at drunkcyclist if you must... the jr high locker room mentality in PG gets a bit tiring after awhile.

This is my bias: nobody HAS to view PG, but already there is a noncycling pic of some woman's labial lips. It has nothing to do with podium girls. Also, I don't think NASCAR podiums (or formula racing) has much to do with cycling. Podium girls are podium girls. Nikki Gudex is not a podium girl.

I have nothing against porn, and I'm not a huge fan of over-moderation, but without some rules in PG, people will cross the line. At the very least, people should put a NSFW warning on their posts if they include nudity.

One thing I've always liked about RBR: it has a much higher maturity level than the forums at bicycling.com or bikeforums.net - but the amount of drooling in the PG area leads me to believe some people have never seen a naked or semi-naked or attractive woman before.

The nice thing about PGF was that the pictures were usually of podium girls and posted on Fridays. Kind of a RBR tradition, so to speak. PGF was kind of an inside joke for the regular board members. A Spirito originated tradition to look forward to as I walked out of the office on Fridays.

Now we have stuff one step above hard core porn. It seems that everyone is trying to outdo each other with the hottest girls in the least clothing - nothing to do with cycling. I have nothing against it, in fact, I like it a lot. I just don't think it belongs on a cycling board. I guess I feel that the see-through thong was over the top. With a few exceptions, the members of the board have shown a maturity level that other boards don't.

I agree with Filtersweep...at least put a warning NSFW (not suitable for work) in the headline if the photo is graphic.

I agree with you too. But there will always be members who think its appropriate to post certain photos that have nothing to do with "podium girls" and are simply nudity. I like to look at beautiful women just as much as anyone else, and I certainly don't mind nudity, but roadbikereview.com is not the place for this type of photography. I recently posted a reply to a member who had posted a nude woman on PG, stating that I thought he went overboard and that PG was not intended for this usage. Suddenly, I was being called an uptight elitist, and then I was told to lighten up and that since I was "new" to RBR, he would take it easy on me. As well, I should get the corn out of my ass. Of course, he offered no reason why nudity should be placed on PG and just kept coming at me. In the end, he just wasn't worth the effort. In my mind, it is simply called decency and having a little respect for the forum and the female members out there. Obviously, certain individuals have neither.

I feel that it should done in good taste. We need not offend the female RBR members. I also have teenaged daughters and wouldn't want them walking up behind me and for me to be surfing the Podium girls done in bad taste. If I want to look at pretty girls scantly clad all I have to do is go to Campustown. I do live in a small city with a Big 10 school. I occasional do just that. There is a time and place for everything and time and place is cycling.

BTW Spirto didn't start the Podium Girl Friday. It was started by the asian guy, I forget his log on, that would post pictures of himself asking for comments on his position on the bike.
