Michael Bluebatmobile 02-23-2005, 03:47 AM I've got a 500EMS. I love the feel and ride of Kestrels :). Bat cdhbrad 02-23-2005, 09:58 AM I replaced the Kestrel fork with an Oval Concepts Aero. Bike is very comfortable for long periods in the aero bars. No problem with flexing. Very well finished. Wouldn't mind one in a Road setup, but I don't think I could sneak another into the garage anytime soon. bigjimcrna 02-23-2005, 12:06 PM Anyone got an opinon about the new Kestral Talon Its a very nice bike. I upgraded to a Talon deluxe after 8 years on a Cannondale R800. The Talon has a super smooth ride and its very fast, especially with the Velomax circuit wheel set. bigjimcrna 02-23-2005, 12:11 PM I have an opinion the Kestrel Evoke, does that count? Michael I test rode an Evoke before I got my Talon. Its a great bike too, but different in character. The Evoke has a bit harsher ride but is a quicker handling bike than the Talon. If I were to choose a bike for racing, the Evoke would be it. However, for cruising and occasional triathlons, the Talon is more comfortable and less expensive too. The Evoke by far was the most comfortable bike in the test. The Evoke felt a tad bit sluggish compared to the other two bikes, but in all fairness, it may of been the groupo on the Evoke not the bike itself. The Evoke felt like you where in the the bike vs. the Trek and C'dale which felt like you where a top of the bike. The Evoke also had the stiffest trianlge of any of the bikes tested. Michael |
