My wife and I will be arriving in Paris at about 2:00 PM on July 21st. We would like to see the final three stages of the Tour but have no idea about how to best get to the St. Etienne area, where to stay, and how to get to the race sites. Also, don't know the best logistics to get back to Paris and where to stay.

Any help from those of you with experience or insights would be very greatly appreciated.

It seems most packaged tours are for longer trips or just for the final stage in Paris.

SNCF have an excellent site which will enable you to get from Paris to St. Etienne and back quite easily. Personally, I wouldn't stay in St. Etienne but it's easy enough to find accomodation if you book it now.
