During the race coverage they said they'd have some kind of highlights package up in the near future, probably later in the week. I'd check it out, most of their stuff is low production value, but certainly does the job.

Props to Hincapie and Disco for this win. I've dissed Hincapie in the past - thought he'd sold his own potential short to improve his climbing so he could help the Armstrong machine - but it looks like he might have worked on his sprint some this winter! Of course, a lot of credit goes to Devolder for all those attacks that softened everybody up. Might have been a very different finish if he hadn't been leaping off the front forcing people to chase him down. Pretty amazing back to back performances from Devolder, and Hincapie winning should go a long way toward getting the rest of Disco to work for him in RDV and PR.

Great race - followed it on cyclingnews.com b/c cycling.tv is windows only. lame.
(edit) actually, just checked and cycling.tv *does* now work on my Mac - good for them!

It is about time for George. He was due.

I read the race coverage on cyclingnews.com...and when Hincapie sprinted and won, the ghost of Harry Carrey sitting next to me started shouting "Cubs win! Cubs win!"

Finally, Hincapie bags another semi-classic...well, maybe a semi-semi-classic. Still, he whooped some serious a$$ today. Stijn Devolder, Leif Hoste, Roger Hammond, Hincapie...enough to rival even Davitamon and Quick.Step.

it's just classics are tougher and everything has to go just right to win. George has been in the hunt many times but has either picked the wrong move or gotten ganged up on (2 or 3 P-R's) had a crash in a P-R where he stood his best shot at a podium or victory. So I don't think he's changed his riding style, the only other (semi) classic he won in similar fashion. Disco has a stronger classics squad so I'm looking for results from George, Roger and co.

I have both - think it defaulted to WMP. I'm using Safari 1.2.4 and Panther.

if it will continue to be free? if there are no commercials how are they going to make money? Just those low res ads on the homepage?

but seriously, to be able to sit at my desk at work with 2.5 hours of Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne going on is truly great. I watched the replay today. I'd love to have that feed hooked up to my television at home. Who needs OLN? Bong (that sound that Jay makes in Dogma)

Finally, now that Lance has the 6-in-a-row record in the bag, Demol was allowed to go crazy and get all the classics riders he needs. Having bullets in the revolver like Hoste and Devolder and Hammond really makes it an easier go for good 'ol Shortbus. It was sweet to see BFB (Big Fat Boonen) and De Peet get shelled by multiple attacks from Devolder.

Now let's see if he can hack it in Flanders or Roubaix...

That is a hell of a good sounding squad. Don't forget Eki.

Anyone want to bet Stijn Devolder gets bought out next year a la Boonen?

Interesting that having 'destroyed' Boonen, Devolder could only manage to finish 5 places behind him in KBK. I'm surprised with their superior tactics, incredible riders and fantastic strength (not to mention sending their Classics A team) that Discovery didn't sweep both races - funnily enough, it was QS who took the top 2 podium steps in the big race of the weekend - you have to remember that KBK really is small fry and a win there does not a win in P-R or LBL necessarily make....

Het Volk was the big minor of the weekend. maybe QS was 'resting' after Saturday but HV was weird. Nuyens out front, nobody wanting to chase, it wasn't a 'fast race'. But considering Nuyens lead Boonen was a shoe for second. Fastest sprinter left with he and his team not responsible for any work. As soon as Nuyens had that lead QS was in the catbird seat.

'zactly, atpjunkie.

Ala P-R 2001: DFF has Wilifried Peeters at one point and later on, Servais Knaven, on the attack after the Arenberg and the best sprinter left in the lead group (Vainsteins) gets a free ride knowing he'll be best of the rest. That's how DFF managed to break Dierckxsens and Hincapie that year. They always had the upper hand.

Oh, and I got the live Dutch TV feed from Het Volk and man, those guys love Ludo. I can't understand the language, but you can tell their voices light up when he shows his face at (err... off) the front....
