This 1983 'dave moulton" is on the road again, finally. My first "project" bike. It's a rare "pro Special Criterium" model of which only 34 were built. The artistry and workmanship is superb. Being a criterium model (slightly higher BB and steeper HT than his road model) I wasn't sure what to expect but it rides absolutely beautiful. Built with Columbus PS tubes. I still need to find a Campy 27.0 seatpost (this one is non-Campy and has a silver paint finish); I have a matching front rim (to the rear) to build up yet. Need a better pedal choice. The paint color of the bike is difficult to capture...the color changes from different angles and varies from grey to eggplant color. dave moulton is a novelist now but he has a section of his website dedicated to his frame building career here: http://www.prodigalchild.net/ and click on BICYCLES. I had posted some other close-ups of his lugwork in this thread: http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=23653. Note: dave moulton also built FUSO frames (these were his non-custom offering) and also John Howard frames; read more about it at his website.
