Hey guys, I am wanting to get into riding pretty serious. The bottom line is I need a hobby, I need something to help me get in better shape, and I need something I get alone with and clear my mind. To me cycling seems perfect.

To give you a little background, I am a pretty disciplined person so I will stick with it, once I get involved with something I pretty much get consumed with, and I have had this desire for a while. The area I live is north of Atlanta so it a little hilly and I want to be able to get on the these roads and ride between an hour and two hours a day.
I also would like to stay around $1100.

So with that in mnd to a total newbie, what bike would you suggest I look at????

Thanks

Leftover 2003 models will always be the cheapest.

I'd go to a LBS and look at the common brands Trek, Cannondale, Fuji, Giant. All make decent products in your price range. You will probably be limited to a Shimano 105 equipped bike. Fit is the most important thing. Avoid a shop that trys to push you into an ill-fitting bike, just because they have one to get rid of.
