Anyone know anything about the area? I'll have one evening next week to ride there. I'm thinking of bringing the mountain bike and trying to poke around the National Forest.

Anyone have any thoughts?

There is a trail on top of Mt. Cheaha (state park in the middle of the National Forest) approx 15 miles south of Anniston.

I actually took my road bike and did 20 miles of Rt. 281, basically from the first Scenic Overlook up to Mt. Cheaha and back. I saw all of those trails that lead off of the road and drooled. That road along with Rt. 48 (or was it 49) are awesome to ride on. I'm heading up there next month for another 2 days. Hopefully I'll do two rides instead of just one. Thanks for the advice.
