I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone indirectly for their help. I have been reading posts for a few months to get PLENTY of useful info before I decided to jump into road cycling. I just picked up a new Cannondale Six13 w/ Centaur for $2100 (Great deal in my mind since they typically sticker for $3k) at my LBS and I can't wait for this awful weather to subside. I outfitted it with a new Cateye Astrale 8, Keo pedals, and a nice pair of Sidi's! I hope to see you all on the road!

Sounds like you got a good deal! I'm a newbie too and just got a Cannondale 2005 R900. Paid full price but I love it! And for some strange reason, the weather here (Wa state) has been really great, so I've been able to ride quite a bit.
