Event Features Riders 18 years and Under, Sunday June 5, 2005
At Wachovia USPRO Championship
The Junior Pro Cycling Tour is inviting boys, ages 18 and under, to test their cycling skills at qualifying events for a chance to race in the Junior PCT Grand Prix. The event is an invitational points race for 20 junior male cyclists scheduled to take place at the Wachovia USPRO Championship on June 5, 2005 in Philadelphia.
The top 20 qualifiers will race for prizes valuing $1000 on June 5th in the Junior PCT Grand Prix on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway after the finish of the women’s Wachovia Liberty Classic and approximately on lap 6 of the Wachovia USPRO Championship. The 5-mile race consists of 3.5 laps between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle.
The top 5 junior riders, age 18 and under, will be selected from each qualifying event:

Course:
Benjamin Franklin Parkway – 3 ½ Laps between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle, using the Wachovia USPRO Championships Start/Finish area.
Total race distance: 5 miles
Time:
The event will take place after the finish of the women’s Wachovia Liberty Classic and approximately on lap-6 of the men’s Wachovia USPRO Championship while the pros are out on the course.
Format:
Points Race, sprint every lap scored 5 deep (3 sprints total) and 10 places for a $1,000 value overall prize list. Sprint every lap scored 5 deep (3 sprints total, for 7,5,3,2,1 points) 10 places overall.
Registration: Will be Sunday, June 5, 2005 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at 22nd & The Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Now in its seventh year, the PCT is the nation’s only all professional road cycling races featuring world-class athletes, live television coverage and community festival events. The PCT is owned and managed by Threshold Sports LLC whose offices are located in Norristown, PA.
