The Surly Pacer 60cm was going to be a six week wait. I just couldn't wait that long. I am getting a Soma Smoothie ES with the steel fork. I guess the carbon is out of stock. Had to order some long reach brakes as well. I guess into every life a little shimaNo must fall. I can hardly wait to build it up complete with fenders and lots of reflective tape. Congrats on that SOMA Smoothie ES frame.

Nashbar has some long reach brakes for a decent price. I think the steel fork will out better for a commuter bike. Locking up a bike to a rack some cause scratches and scuffs and I think a steel fork fares better than carbon one for that purpose.

And don't feel bad about the Shimano calipers... seems only Shimano and Tektro market 57mm brakes these days, so not much room for the picky.

Are you getting silver? That's the only color I've seen on it. Please post some pics when it's built.
