I just got an email for the Elephant Rock cycling festival on June 1. Has anyone done this? it looks pretty interesting. Just a couple weeks after Santa Fe Century, so the fitness should be good for doing it, but just wondering how well it is supported.

One of my regular riding partners has been trying to get me to do it the last couple years. A few years ago they changed the route some and he doesn't like it as much. It typically gets a lot more riders than Santa Fe.

I've done it a few times and it's a great route, but I'll not do it again. It has gotten really huge and the sheer amount of people--most with little to marginal bike handling skills--has made me decide to skip it. Pretty well supported, but again because of the large numbers of people doing it you better start early. I've started late and they have run out of the best snacks and even one time a stop was out of water. The BBQ and party at the end is pretty good. In any event...do the century if you do it. If you do lesser miles you don't get to go through the Black Forest section which to me is the prettiest part of the ride.

It sounds pretty good. I have some folks from work who want to do it, so I will likely do it with them.
