Looks really great ! what Colnago's frame is it ?
Before I knew anything about bikes I bought a Nishki Olympic for $300.00 brand new in the late 1980's.. I kept it around far too long because . . . you . . . um . . . never forget your first. The bike fit me perfectly. About three years ago I was riding home from work when a car crashed into me headon. The forks were bent but the frame was fine. Sadly, I sold her at the San Diego Veloswap. :(
knh555 03-21-2005, 06:35 AM My best ride for what I was doing at the time (racing) was a team-issued 1989 Schwinn (Waterford) Paramount SLX. The bike was comfy enough to spend the day on but felt great in bunch sprints and tight crits.
Too bad they took it back at the end of the season. :(
tommyboypdx 03-21-2005, 06:55 PM Just took my Torelli (built by Mondonico) out for a short spin tonight for its first ride, and it was AMAZING. I can't wait for the next sunny saturday. Camera batteries are dead, but here is a pic that was taken before it was finished...

It's a 2002 C40 B-Stay. Better looking than the C50 HM and Pinarellos!

Mine is from '86 or '87 and I still enjoy it even though the frame is actually a little too big for me. :p

Bikehigh 03-24-2005, 11:28 AM I bought this Condor Siena in 1974 when I was 15 years old. This bike made me who I am today, BIKEHIGH! :D

Sickitty 03-25-2005, 02:55 AM The best bike I have ever ridden was a classic Colnago/ pinched tubes/campy nuovo record that was a size too small. I have owned and ridden many other bike since then including colnagos but there was something about that particular frame that was dead on. Perfect balance and alignemt or something, it is hard to explain. My current rides are great and all but nothing to compare.
I sold it since it didn't fit me and I spoke with the guy I sold it to several years later. He had bought it for his wife and after a few years, offered to upgrade her to a new custom built frame. She said no, she would not part with that bike!
DMoore 03-30-2005, 07:41 PM Best bike I've ever ridden is my Richard Sachs, which I've been riding since new in Oct. '98. My comments are included on his website, but the bottom line is "best damned bike I've ever ridden." I've had a number of classic and modern bikes over the last ten years, including a couple of Ciocc's, a Bill Holland, a Brian Baylis and a Medici, all lugged steel. I've also had a Ritchey (tig welded steel). In Al I've had a Trek 2200; Specialized E-5, and Orbea Lobular. A Litespeed Ultimate and my brand new Orbea Orca round out the list, excluding a TT rig and an MTB.
Each bike has been good in its own way. But for a general purpose bike the Sachs beats them all. If I could only own one bike, that's the one I'd keep.
ckilner 04-15-2005, 11:06 AM Ten years ago, I would have said it was the Maranoni Squadra SL/C-Record bike I raced in my glory days. It was an unbelivable crit bike. Now that I'm old and am looking for comfort, the bike I wish I still had is the 1987 Nishiki Team Issue (Kawamura-built) Prestige/Dura-Ace and GL330 rims. It was fast, light, super comfy, had telepathic handling - and fit like a glove (and hey, not many people had 18 lb bikes in 1987!).
Jamieshankland 04-16-2005, 03:09 PM I inherited mine from my brother who used to race on road. I changed a few things from this pic like the post, and stem, and Im a big fan of high-hoods. I also recently installed the Mavic Computer. I'll keep it forever. It makes closet training for downhill that much better.
