anyone see that madone 5.9 for sale on the classified page? $1450, right? not a bad deal. methinks there is a scammer at work. after asking him how much shipping would be and to please send me the serial number, this was the reply:

i have buyed new bike 2005 trek amstrong, so for payment i choice money order (western union or money gram), and for shipping UPS.

thank you

now, im not one to discriminate against those who cant read or write that well, but thats one of the best in my dealings with scammers. i asked him again for the serial number, and also if this was the model with the integrated flux capacitor. if it is, you guys had better watch out because im gonna time warp my a$$ to world championship gold. i'm waiting on the reply. ill keep you posted.

the thing that sucks is when they reply to your ads or especially ebay sales. i've had a few "inquiries" from ads i've placed here and ebay. i even had the same exact "letter" with 2 different names but wanting it shipped to a third person in ohio.

Funny bit about the flux capacitor. Ask him if it needs one-point-twentry-one giga watts of electricity.

I get emails from scammers too as reply to stuff I am selling in the classifieds. The typical Nigerian Check Scam routine.

But what I find equally as annoying as check scam emails are the real buyers who email me with just "Tell me your best price" or "Give me your final price".
