Are you racing at Loudon? I'm signed up for the whole series, but I can't make it the 1st week, family obligations. Next week will be my first race. I'm never sure how I'm doing until I get into the first race. Good luck.

I rode Monday, seems like -- I could check the training log -- seems like I did a weight session Sunday. Tuesday I felt fine. Wednesday I spent all day sleeping and watching TV. Today is Thursday, and I still feel like I haven't recovered.

And so I get anxious about the "layoff" . . . I feel like I should be out putting in the miles or at least getting in a workout.

And I tell myself that recovery is part of training -- and maybe, at 57 yrs old, I'm pushing the workouts a bit hard, and not really recovering fully.

Sooooooo, I'm off to the pool. It's pouring rain outside -- typical for the Oregon coast this time of year. I'll sit in the hot tub, paddle around a bit. I doubt that I swim any serious laps.

-- RELAX dude . . . you're getting in shape. It's just gonna take time. :D
