you are a male that fits a womens-specific bike better than the "male" version. I understand that some of it is marketing, some of it is design, but it does raise a point.

The company is specifically Trek. They are known for long tope tubes, and it seems to be reasonable to me that a man looking at a 56 and below could actually fit a WSD better.

My perfect fit happens to be the stock OCLV size 58, almost to a T. However, one of my friends is actually dealing with this with a 56. He honestly feels better on the WSD.

Any thoughts?

Get it. Maybe skip over the pink one and go for one of the colors that doesn't scream "chick's bike." It doesn't say "WSD" on it, does it? Haven't really looked at them much, but basically, it seems it's just a marketing scheme on a compact geometry rig with sloping and shorter top tube. Or skip Trek and buy something else with a geometry that does fit. Trek makes great bikes, but there's no shortage of choices out there.
